Port d`Andratx is a small port town is the South West of Mallorca. It
is an area filled with German tourists and residents. A lot of rich
Germans live here. Most parts of Port d` Andratx are filled with mansions.
The boom still goes on with the posh houses creeping further and further up
the hills. The big tourist boom did not take place in Port d` Andratx
because the lack of beaches. There are more holiday makers in neighbouring
Camp de Mar.

The centre of Port d`Andratx is nice. Unfortunately, the road along the sea
has a lot of traffic - the street behind is a pedestrian area with a lot of
shops.

You will see two things a lot in Port d` Andratx: real estate agents’
offices and the yachts of the rich Germans. There are thousands of boats in
the bay of all sizes. Only a few of them are fishing boats. For people who
want to see expensive yachts Port d` Andratx is the place to go. A house for
less than a million euros is hard to find in Port d`Andratx.

Many things have been adjusted in consideration to the general wealth of the
people living in Port d’Andratx. To give a small example, many of the
restaurants here charge €30-50 a head for a meal.
Finding a room in a hotel in Port d`Andratx is no problem out of high
season. Prices start at around €50 for a double room. If you’re looking for
a cheap room, you’re out of luck – there are no cheap pensions here.
